My 2015 Blackjack Year in Review

This is the requisite year in review blog post that all real bloggers produce.  Of course with my slowing blog production I don’t know that I still fall into that category, but what the heck.  And since I’m writing this on January 9th I’m sure you have guessed how my year in blackjack went.

If I broke the bank and doubled my roll this would have been written somewhere in mid-December.  Anyway, let’s review shall we.

On the plus side, this was the most live play I’ve had in a year with 12 casino visits and 6 Vegas trips.  Also, I made some good connections in the gambling community with the highlight coming when I was interviewed on the Faces & Aces podcast.  It is great to know there are so many people out there who share my passion for Vegas, gambling and blackjack.  I also had a great guys trip to Vegas again on my Birthday, went to the Marine Birthday Ball at Ballys in a tux, and had first-time visits to 3 properties – Horseshoe Iowa, Potowotamie in Milwaukee, and Harrahs Valley River in North Carolina.

That is the positive side so here is the rundown of the damage:

  • 12 trips with casino visits – new record
    •  6 trips to Vegas – new record
    • 3 trips to Iowa – new casino for me
  • Largest loss in one trip -38 yards – January
  • Largest win in one trip +16 yards – April
  • Largest loss on one hand – 12 yards
  • Largest win on one hand + 10 yards
  • Total win/loss for 2015 – 75 yards (ouch)

Overall I really did enjoy this year in blackjack outside of my actual results.  Luckily I don’t have to live off my earnings (or losses as the case may be) this year or I’d be writing this from my bed in the back of my car.

The beauty of a new year is the chance to wipe the slate clean and work towards better results in 2016.  I look forward to building on my relationships in the gambling community, enjoying all my casino trips, and hopefully taking my game to the next level with the results to show for it.

Happy New Year to all and may all of your hands be winners!
